CCBB. Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil. Art. Rio de Janeiro. Southeast.

The most visited  museum in Rio de Janeiro.

From TimeOut Rio:

"The thriving multimedia cultural centre also known as the CCBB
occupies a historical building on Rua Primeiro de Março
which was once central to the city's financial and business sectors.
Rescued and resuscitated at the end of the '80s, Banco do Brasil
recognised its architectural significance and transformed it into a focus
for art exhibitions, film and cultural debates.
Uniting several exhibition spaces under one (beautiful) roof,
there is also a decent bookshop selling all kinds of weird and wonderful
items, and a nice café for refuelling under the vaulted glass roof."

Now showing Brazilian painter Tarsila do Amaral

Hiking. Rio de Janeiro. Southeast.

Rio de Janeiro is located in a very mountainous area
and there are many trails to discover.

Pico Da Tijuca, located in an urban forest,
Floresta da Tijuca, has an easy access.
The Mata Atlântica is a protected area,
full of monkeys, frogs, birds and butterflies,
In Corcovado the trek to the top will lead you
to the gigantic statue of Christ, the Redeemer,
One of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
From up there you may see the entire city.

Sugarloaf is another great hike,
and tourists and locals love the experience.
Made of granite and quartz, from there you will see Guanabara Bay,
with beautiful views of land, sea, forest and hills.

Pedra da Gavea resembles a sleeping giant.
Here, trekkers can hike up a massive
"nose" while wondering
how such an odd shape could have been
created by nature.
There are also cryptic carvings and ancient inscriptions
that make the site even more mysterious.

For an interesting mountain view,
check out Two Brothers.
While you can't climb this unique natural formation,
 the two Siamese mountain twins
make for a great photo, especially when viewed during a sunset from Ipanema Beach.
